Tactics ogre rune fencer11/15/2022 ![]() ![]() It's good both for experimenting and also for perfectionists who get the impulse to reset after a single wrong move like me lol The time rewind mechanic is super cool, also for creating multiple "timelines" to better evaluate your moves. Can't wait to see more classes, although not being new to this genre I know I will push for Denam to becoma a ninja ASAP ahahah The fights in itself while almost identical to FFT have small nuances, like different active and passive skills, apparently more variety in spells, finishing moves and so on This remake is very solid and a good leap ahead of FFT imho: the sprites, UI, environments and weather effects looks very good, the game also loads fast (idk if it's tied to emulation) The writing itself is pretty solid, in how it sounds pretty natural while being that type of medioeval prose, I love the super dramatic titles of chapters and so on Also, fuck Vyce, you piece of shit you were only my meat bait for enounters and you killed Ravness which I really wanted in my party! And also, just like the other games, it's hyping up the possible narrative of XVI ![]() That surprised me so I can't wait to see more ramifications. I will say that while I knew about multiple paths the choices were actually very cool, especially the one at the end of the chapter which puts you in a tough position and the outcomes are both horrifying and I found it unexpected to discover later that killing civilians puts you on the Lawful Path while opposing the slaughter puts you on Chaos. I can't really comment on the setting, plot and characters as Chapter I is still pretty standard fare, especially for this team. The OG cover is now one of my favorites of all times, just look at this shit! I am at the beginning of Chapter II, so I will try to give more updates as I go on, but i'll just write random bits of thoughts I have on the game: I will also probably pick up Vagrant Story down the way.īut now I have started Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together on the PSP, a game I wanted to play for a very long time. I replayed FFXII on the Switch, finished Heavensward, and while FFT is already my "best" FF (I think VII is my favorite but Tactics is the one I consider the best) I will replay that one as well. So I decided to prepare myself for XVI by playing other games from these devs. ![]() I call it the "British" line of the FF family.īut the official reveal shot my hype much higher and made my thirst for well written medioeval drama unquenchable. So, I was always very hyped for Final Fantasy XVI, even before it got officially announced, because the pedigree of the people behind it has always been top-notch. SPOILERS ahead as I'll try to write more as I continue! ![]()
